Hi there fellow deviantartists,

i have set up a fan club for, in my opinion the best punk rock band that ever existed. Please make tributes or scan up your photos of anything 'the clash' related, then send me a note or whatever with the link to your deviation.

To join just devwatch us.

-QUOTES (from the album 'from here to eternity: live'):~
"Masonic Auditorium, Detroit 1978. A packed house. Lights go down, band goes on. After first number, an empty whiskey bottle crashes near Joe's feet. He laughs. 'Is that the best you got?' In an instant, hundreds of bottles rain down on the stage...wizzing past Mick's ear, smashing into Topper's kit. Amazingly, the band play on undetered. This band will do nicely, I thought."

"I am only 18. I have never seen The Clash but I would sell my grandmother to have seen them."

-THE BAND:~
Joe Strummer: vocals/gtr
Mick Jones: gtr/vocals
Paul Simonon: bass/vocals
Topper Headon: drums

four sins past sainthood,
it's like i'm dying to forget
all the sleepless nights,
lying perfectly alone and still.
i can drink 'till victory,
i'll drink to the mighty,
drink until i die,
or at least until the sunrise.

1977. I hope I go to Heaven...

... Can't even write an essay on Dante without thinking of The Clash.

I WANNA JOIN~!!!!!! :XD:

Teenage Kicks by The Undertones rates right up there with White Riot & Born to Lose as well. Where did the music go to? The White Stripes maybe (if they had a bit more to say maybe?)

The Clash was the only band that ever mattered. They will be my favorite musicals forever I think. Unfortunately I lent all of my Clash and Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers (L.A.M.F. and such) to my girlfriend’s daughter back in 1995 and for reasons of the Heroin Habit she developed I will never see that vinyl again. See pretty well and 25 yrs old now so I guess it's all good. Ever here the 12inch 45 they released called Radio Clash. I wish I had it so I could demonstrate how good rap was really done. I finally got to see the Clash opening for The Who at the Los Angeles Coliseum but it was a huge disappointment as Combat Rock had appeared to signal the end and they just hopped around in florescent colored jump suits and pounded out that crap as if to laugh at us all who thought we might actually experience a set of theirs at that distance. Can't say that I blamed them-artists need money to live too. And at least Big Audio Dynamite still kicked. I love to see that others still care and though I am not much of a joiner of things I would have pride in an affiliation with you all if you could accept a 47-year-old fart checking in on ya all. I have been really out of the loop for years and would love it if anyone has any cool Strummer/Jones/Clash sites anyone could turn me on to? :+favlove:
